Artist’s Retreat

Like watercolors on canvas, soft-hued surroundings set the scene for serenity. Creamy furniture lends an understated elegance to a space that transports you to faraway places without leaving the comfort of your own living room. Or, even better, your warm and cozy bed!

A few questions for Shenna Sikora

Is there something in the water here at PoshTots? Well, that we can’t really say, but we can tell you that we are doubly delighted to have not just one but two soon-to-be first time moms on our staff. Dynamic Design Consultant Shenna is also expecting and can’t wait to give you a peek into her style file. Take a moment to get to know the fun fashionista we call Shenna – you can always recognize her by that award-winning smile.

Design Style:

My design style is ever-changing and varies wildly from room to room in my home. For the most part, I lean towards a clean, streamlined look with abstract lighting and fun prints coupled with vibrant accent colors (which you can currently find in my dining room and master bedroom). In the other rooms throughout my house – such as my living room, spare bedroom and kitchen – I’ve used warm neutral tones, bronze and gold accents and darker wood. I love changing the colors and themes of each room to keep things fresh and exciting.

Favorite Book:

Reading is by far one of my favorite pastimes, so choosing a favorite is very difficult for me. Right now, I’m enjoying The Girlfriends’ Guide to Pregnancy by Vicki Iovine, for a comical description of what I can expect in the months to come.

Favorite Website:

Pandora is a staple in my everyday life and is always streaming in the background while I get my work done. Etsy is another fun site that I just can’t get enough of!

On My Ipod:

Snow Patrol, Florence + The Machine, Portishead, A Fine Frenzy, Jack Johnson and The Strokes, among many others.

Must-See TV:

I am addicted to the Food Network and HGTV. They are two channels that I can flip through at any point during the day and be completely at peace with whatever is on… As far as prime time TV goes, my favorites are Bones, Suits and the new show Once Upon a Time (because what girl doesn’t love a good fairy tale?).

Favorite Expression:

“I started my life with a single absolute: that the world was mine to shape in the image of my highest values and never to be given up to a lesser standard, no matter how long or hard the struggle.”-Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

PoshTots Reveals Fantasy Room Secrets in HGTV Design Show

A $49,000 Cinderella coach bed, a $100,000 playhouse, a pirate-themed bedroom that would be the envy of Jack Sparrow; this is the world of PoshTots. For over a decade, we’ve created whimsical worlds and fanciful furnishings for a star-studded list of global clients. And now, company founders Andrea and Pam are taking their design talents to television. Watch them transform the ordinary into truly extraordinary children’s worlds with the help of affluent clients, talented artisans and a seemingly limitless budget on HGTV’s one-hour special, PoshTots.

“The design process behind the creation of our high-end children’s rooms is exciting, entertaining and informative. It’s not about excess, it’s about inspiration. We work with our clients to magnify their children’s passions and imaginations through spectacular surroundings,” states Andrea.

Follow Pam and Andrea as they design and create an extreme playroom for the daughters of Joey Fatone (N’Sync, Dancing with the Stars, My Big Fat Greek Wedding), along with two other elite Florida families in search of the ‘PoshTots’ treatment. Among the most celebrated children’s room designers worldwide, Andrea, Pam and HGTV truly take luxury to a new level in this style-filled special. But…we can’t spill all our secrets. You’ll just have to wait and see!

Design Style:
I am in love with the Mad-Men era, midcentury modern furniture, bold colors and natural wood tones. My home is decorated with Eames-style pieces I’ve collected secondhand throughout the years. My husband owns a local fabric store, so we have fun prints accenting our home almost everywhere you look. We have every room painted a different color: avocado green in the kitchen, a deep gold in the dining room and a neutral orangey tan in the living room. The orange room pictured above, is my working progress of a nursery! Stay tuned to see it’s debut!

Favorite Book:
At the moment, Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthy. If you need some comic relief during pregnancy, this book is gold!

Favorite Website: – If a day goes by without pinning something inspirational to my many boards, you know I’m nowhere near the Internet.

On My Ipod:
Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s, Metric, Anything with Jenny Lewis or Ben Gibbard

Must-See TV:
Parenthood, Top Chef and Project Runway (Go, Anya!)
