After struggles with infertility, miscarriage and breast cancer, Bill and Giuliana Rancic welcomed son Edward Duke into the world on Wednesday, August 29th! We were absolutely honored to be a part of the baby shower and to help them prepare for the arrival of their baby boy. We know they’ll enjoy every moment of this precious miracle.
We spend so much time sorting through an excessive amount of information – emails, instructions, text messages, to-do lists, nutrition labels – that we sometimes forget to stop and appreciate the wisdom of mere words. So, go ahead, take the time to inspire yourself to be the best you can be. Reread that Mother’s Day card from the kids. Pick up your favorite paperback (the one you haven’t read in 10 years). Post a motivational quote on your mirror. They may only be words but, to someone, they are a heartfelt memory – or just what is needed to tackle a case of “the Mondays.”
Kathryn, a mom of 5, started a Mother-to-Mother movement with her baby sling business. Working with her on behalf of moms in Haiti has been a huge inspiration for us here at PoshTots. Who or what inspires you to make a difference? Let us know on our Facebook page for a chance to win your own Rockin’ Baby sling. Like Rockin’ Baby’s Facebook page and enter on their wall as well. Two random winners will be announced (one on each page) on 8/28.

While July is designated as National Watermelon Month, many local festivals and parades continue to rally around this magnificent melon as the summer comes to a close – including our hometown favorite here in Richmond, Virginia. By weight, watermelon is the most-consumed melon in the U.S., followed by cantaloupe and honeydew. What makes us so wild for watermelon? Well, for one thing, watermelon is 92% water. After one of the warmest summers on record, we eagerly welcome this water-filled fruit after a hot day outdoors. Early explorers even used watermelons as canteens! While the first watermelon harvest was in Egypt almost 5,000 years ago, thankfully we don’t have to travel far to find this fabulous fruit. Find a watermelon festival in your area here.
Make your summer even sweeter with this simple recipe for Mediterranean Watermelon Salad.

-1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
-1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
-1 dash cracked black pepper
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except oil and pepper. Just before serving, toss salad mixture with oil. Garnish with pepper. Makes 6 servings.
